VIZIO - CINEMAWIDE HDTV

Project #2 for agency Wong Doody Crandall Wiener and client Vizio was the intro video for their new CinemaWide smart television. Created to run native on the display at 2560x1080, and with internet-ready versions, this early announcement video was to only hint at the capabilities of this awesome home theater centerpiece.

Motion graphics - VO bullets and textual elements – were tracked to the action of the cameras throughout, in an elegant fast pace. Showing 3D capabilities in the 2D environment, and the benefits of Vizio’s proprietary technology, was made possible by the implementation of a spaceship, a spinning nebula, many renders in the 3D environment and a gentle bit of 2D compositing.

Sometimes it is all about the product as hero object. That begins with a perfectly workflow-adapted model and carries on with light that brings out textures, in this case brushed aluminum and glass panel, to perfection. To accurately depict the logo illumination and networking demonstration, real-world captures were the basis of animation timings.

The number of assets we manage on projects – logos, videos, stills, graphics, mnemonics, fonts, models, environments and corporate branding guides – is at times massive. Organization is key and, in David and Chris, we have two exceptionally consistent gate-keepers. All project files and assets are co-ordinated on in-house secure servers with remote backup daily.
